Once again, a big thank you for all your ideas. We have had more than 370 and we have read each one of them.

On this page, you will find the first actions we have been able to put in place.

Our initiative is ongoing, and the questionnaire is still available.

Don’t hesitate to take part.

« FAVOURING THE USE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT »

Since 1989, we have had, in the Funicular, an eco-responsible link, unique in the mountains, which takes 7 minutes to reach the summits from the valley. Courtesy of an inter-resort bus service, it is possible to travel between the different parts of les Arcs without using a car.
For the 2020 summer season, we have decided to make the funicular free for pedestrians to reach our summer area from Bourg Saint Maurice.

« RAISING AWARENESS OF LITTER COLLECTION »

Since February, the ski area has been erecting new signs to make skiers and walkers aware of their responsibilities. They will be found in various places, notably on the Comborcière platform and at the top of the Aiguille Rouge.

On 5 September, we are organising our annual litter-collection event, the « Stop Waste Tour ». More than 650 kg of waste was collected last year. We expect to see you in large numbers at the next event.

« MAKING THE PUBLIC AWARE OF THEIR RESPONSABILITIES FOR THE COLLECTION OF CIGARETTE ENDS »

Smokers are offered pocket ashtrays in our sales areas and at the bottom of lifts to encourage them to collect their own cigarette ends.

The ski area has also installed Tree6clope ashtray points in several  locations such as the Col de la Chal. Tree6clope is an eco-responsible charity which collects and recycles cigarette ends and raises public awareness.

« LIMITING THE USE OF PLASTIC BOTTLES »

We want to limit the use of plastic in our area and we are currently working on a project aimed at encouraging customers to use re-usable water-bottles instead of plastic bottles.

The majority of our local partners (accommodation providers and restaurants) have already adopted a responsible approach by using biodegradable place settings to replace beakers, straws and cutlery.

« INSTALLING SOLAR PANELS ON THE LIFTS »

The ski area is committed to putting its infrastructures to good use in developing renewable energies. By way of example, in 2019, 15 photovoltaic panels were installed on the Varet top station and 45 on the bottom station of the Aiguille Rouge

Similarly, 100% of the ski area’s electricity is derived from renewable energy.
