A SUMMER ON 2 WHEELS

This summer, Bourg Saint Maurice – Les Arcs will be bent over the handlebars as some major cycling events pass through. All who love two-wheeled sports will be fully satisfied.

L’ETAPE DU TOUR DE FRANCE (Tour de France Stage) – Sunday 21 July

Albertville – Val Thorens Stage
For the 29th running of the l’Étape du Tour, a peloton of 15,000 entrants will line up under the same conditions as the professional Tour de France riders on the start line of the 20th stage of the Tour de France 2019 between Albertville and Val Thorens – a distance of 135 kilometres with a gross ascent of 4,563 metres in total.

Bourg Saint Maurice will host a feeding/water station in the station car park. The riders will be passing through the centre of Bourg Saint Maurice from 8.35 am  until 12.45 pm.

THE TOUR DE FRANCE IS COMING THROUGH – Saturday 27 July

Albertville – Val Thorens stage
In a magnificent Alpine setting, starting in Albertville and finishing at altitude in Val Thorens. Bourg Saint Maurice is on the route of the last mountain stage of the Tour de France before the finish on the Champs Elysées the following day. On this stage, things will begin to unfold on the Cormet de Roselend, but nothing is settled yet.

1.15 pm – THE TOUR CARAVAN PASSES THROUGH
2.50 PM- THE RIDERS PASS THROUGH

THE TOUR DE TARENTAISE - 31 July to 03 August

After 3 events reserved for the best elite national and international riders, the 2019 Tour de Tarentaise will be open to all!
More than 250 riders and 4 stages, criss-crossing the whole of the Tarentaise.
This cyclosportive race will pass through Bourg Saint Maurice on Thursday 1st August from 4.00 to 4.30 pm.

TOUR DE L’AVENIR (Tour of the Future) – Saturday 24 August

The Tour de l’Avenir is the cycle race that brings together the best riders aged under 23.
Its 56th running will, once again, pass through Bourg Saint Maurice – Les Arcs on 24 August, on the Villaroger – Tignes stage.
This is the penultimate mountain stage over a distance of 74 km with 2,462 m of gross ascent.

PROGRAMME:
12.00 noon: start in Villaroger
2.30 pm: finish in Tignes

AOSTA VALLEY CYCLE TOUR– Wednesday 17 July

The Aosta Valley / Mont Blanc cycle tour comprises six days of competition between 16 and 21 July 2019, 694 kilometres through the Aosta Valley, France and Switzerland and lots of climbs.
The 56th running of this race is reserved for riders under the age of 23 and will pass through Bourg Saint Maurice – Les Arcs on 17 July at about 1.00 pm on the Ste Foy Tarentaise – Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc stage.
