22 JUNE 2019

Summer’s coming apace, little by little the snow is giving way to a fine carpet of greenery, flowers and …plastic, metal, paper and cigarette ends.
That’s why we’re suggesting a big operation to pick up the rubbish to increase your awareness, to make you aware of your responsibilities and to make our mountains even more beautiful.

The rendez-vous is fixed for the 22 June at 8.00 am in front of the Belambra Hotel du Golf in Arc 1800. There will be a welcoming coffee and all participants will get a free lunch. The most athletic will be able to do some plogging, and all participants will leave with a Les Arcs Picture prize.

We expect lots of you to come and share a great community moment !

What is plogging ?
It’s a contraction of plocka upp («picking up», in Swedish) and «jogging». The result is to take advantage of our little steps to get rid of our rubbish. A frequently used term on social media, this new activity combines a responsible act with enjoying oneself and letting off steam. A healthy mind in a healthy body. Come on, go for it !

8.00 am – Welcome to the volunteers

Before attacking the big clean-up, we will welcome you over a hot drink! Handing out of equipment, distributing the teams over the ground, setting up teams to sort the rubbish …

9.00 am – Set out into the ski area

- An amusing and ecological show and....children aged 4 and over can join in
- Start plogging supervised by Elise Sport and Coach (length of session 1 hour)
- Start collecting rubbish along several routes

As it is collected, the rubbish is brought to the collection point where it is sorted and weighed.

13.00 pm– Free lunch

After a morning’s collecting and sorting, it’s time for volunteers and organisers to share a meal.

We will supply the necessary equipment on site: rubbish sacks, gloves and bottles of water.
We recommend that you kit yourself out suitably: trainers, walking boots, fleece, cap and sun cream!
If the weather is inclement, we will postpone the event until Saturday 29 June.
Any good idea that can add to the day is welcome. You can contact our teams by e-mail on marketing@lesarcs.com

Car-sharing is set up with Cool Bus, 24 places are available. To book your lift, please contact : rob@thecoolbus.co.uk
