With the success of the four previous runnings behind it, TPS, supported by the resort of les Arcs and the municipality of Villaroger, has again decided to get on familiar terms with the heavens with its double vertical Kilometre (K2).
The course is demanding but it will delight height differential junkies and those who adore mountain tops. For this 6th running, a choice of two courses will be offered again on the legendary Aiguille Rouge trail.
- K1 : 3.4km / 1000M + height differential
- K2: 7.6km / 2000M + height differential
Mass start in Villaroger from Le Pré (an altitude of 1220m) on Sunday 05th July 2020 at 10.30 am finishing at an altitude of 2220m close to the Plan des Violettes (1st part of the K2).
The course follows a grassy track through the Villaroger forest.
Feeding/drink stations : you will be able to take on water at the Bistrot de Soliet (500m + height differential) and light refreshments will be available on finishing at the Plan des Violettes.
Classification : The latest finishing time for classification is set at 12.30 pm.
Prize-giving : 2.30 pm.
Mass start in Villaroger from Le Pré (an altitude of 1220m) on Sunday 05th July 2020 at 9.30 am finishing at an altitude of 3220m at the top of the Aiguille Rouge.
The first part will follow a grassy track through the Villaroger forest. As it approaches the mid-stage at K1, the route will take the runners through a rocky landscape with, at the end of the course, a crossing of the le Varet glacier to finish at the top of the Aiguille Rouge, at an altitude of more than 3220m.
In winter, the course is the longest marked downhill ski run in Europe.
Feeding/drink stations : light refreshments are scheduled to be at the K1 and K2 finishes.
Classification : The latest finishing times for classification are set at 11.30 am at the mid-point, K1 (out of contention after that time), and 1.30 pm at the K2 finish.
Prize-giving : 3 pm.
