Tour de l'Avenir

The 52nd running of the Tour of the Future is about hard-fought stages, hope and a cycle road race worthy of the greatest!

This year, Bourg-Saint-Maurice has the honour of hosting the 6th stage - a mountain stage - of this tour on Friday 26 August this year.

Regarded as the Tour de France for up and coming riders, this stage race, first run in 1961 and open to riders aged from 19 to 22, is intended to discover the racers of tomorrow. National teams compete in the Tour of the Future which constitutes the final of the UCI Nations Cup.

The Grand Start of the race takes place on Saturday 22 August in the department of l'Yonne in the form of a prologue. 7 stages will follow finishing in les Sybelles:
>1 individual time trial of 3.9 km in Tonnerre
>3 flat stages (Chablis >> Toucy / Avallon >> Arbois / Champagnole >> Tournus)
>4 mountain stages (Annemasse >> Cluses / Megève >> La Rosière-Montvalezan / Bourg St-Maurice >> St-Michel-de-Maurienne / St-Michel-de-Maurienne >> Les Bottières - Les Sybelles)

Stage 1: Chablis >> Toucy (flat stage) 161 km
Stage 2 : Avallon >> Arbois (flat stage) 194 km
Stage 3 : Champagnole >> Tournus (flat stage) 137 km
Stage 4 : Annemasse >> Cluses (mountain stage) 147 km
Stage 5 : Megève >> La Rosière-Montvalezan (mountain stage) 103 km
Stage 6 : Bourg St-Maurice >> St-Michel-de-Maurienne (mountain stage) 126 km
Stage 7 : St-Michel-de-Maurienne >> Les Bottières - Les Sybelles (mountain stage) 94 km
