It's never too early (think of your little ones) or too late (think of yourself!) to discover the mountains at their most breathtaking: covered in a blanket of pristine white snow. Do you usually head to the countryside or the seaside for your spring holidays? This year, break with tradition and surprise your children with their first skiing holiday!

Ahhh, springtime... Trees budding, tulips colouring the flowerbeds, grass growing wildly... and snow still present at high altitudes! While April is synonymous with nature reborn in the valleys, it is also the favourite month (not to mention: the well-kept secret) spring skiing enthusiasts. Soft snow warmed by the sun, longer days allowing you to enjoy the terraces until evening, rising temperatures. All the ingredients are in place to make spring the best season for a first family skiing holiday.
Promise your children an Easter holiday in the snow without the risk of disappointment: In Les Arcs, snow cover is guaranteed on almost all ski slopes until the end of April, with 70% of the mountain area located above 2,000 metres and a highest point of 3,226 metres.
Everything you need to know about the Les Arcs ski area (including 18 green/easy slopes and 55 blue/beginner slopes, which are popular with adult beginners and children).
Discover the fun ski slopes (La Forêt des Pitchouns and La Piste des Minis) and the areas for improvement designed for beginners (first glide, first turns, first descent).
Children's favourite spots in the ski area: the Géants de Malgovert (very poetic wooden play structures accessible on skis), the Illuminated Murals of the Red Needle (a colourful sound and light show at the top of the Varet cable car) and the Mineral Gallery (via the Transarc cable car).

Did you think that skiing holidays were reserved for a select few with deep pockets? Think again! In April, great spring skiing deals are popping up everywhere: Cheaper accommodation, special offers on ski passes, low-cost package holidays... Organising your first family skiing holiday is now a breeze.
All the best spring skiing deals in one place here (limited stocks, first come, first served!)
If the sacrosanct medal pinned proudly on the ski jacket at the end of a week of group lesson continues to inspire children generation after generation, it must now share its success with many other activities in the mini-riders' accounts of their holidays when they return to school.
Sled (from age 3 on the Arc 1800 slope and from age 12 on the Arc 2000 slope), zip line (from 25 kg), adventure course (from 3 years old), mini snowmobile (from 5 years old), laser rifle shooting (from 8 years old)… All these family activities are available at low prices from 4 to 25 April 2026. thanks to the great accommodation deal «Buy one activity, get one free ». Savings that allow you to indulge in other winter sports classics, such as a good restaurant with terrace or a dinner in a real igloo village !

Want to take the plunge... but not quite sure how to go about it? Ask any questions you may have (even the ones that seem silly to you: I promise, they're not.) to the receptionists at Les Arcs Tourist Office! They are available to answer your queries seven days a week, by email and by telephone (04 79 07 12 57) to make organising your first family skiing holiday as easy as possible :)
Pitfall No. 1: forgetting sunglasses and sunscreen
In spring, the sun's reflection on the snow is at its strongest. Bring sunglasses for the whole family (including babies) and pack factor 50 sun cream! Apply it to every bit of exposed skin several times a day, even when it's cloudy ;)
Pitfall No. 2: Not providing ski wear for non-skiers
Skiwear keeps you warm on the slopes... but it also keeps you dry during other snow activities! Sledging, snowshoeing, building snowmen: you'll never regret bringing skiwear for non-skiers.
Pitfall No. 3: Not thinking about waterproof shoes
You may not need them for shopping or going to a restaurant if the pavements are dry, but you will thank us for reminding you every time you want to cross the snow front or reach snow-covered activity sites (spring snow is wet!).
Pitfall No. 4: Skipping the weather forecast
In Les Arcs, as elsewhere, the weather can be unpredictable in April. So take a look at the weather forecast before packing your bags; you may want to pack more (or fewer) long-sleeved tops depending on what's predicted. In any case, don't forget your swimsuit: you'll need it whether it's hot or cold, at the swimming pool and at spa !
Pitfall No. 5: Not planning ahead for parking (if you are travelling by car)
Of course, if you are travelling by train (what a great idea!), there's no question about it. However, if you decide to come by car, remember to reserve a parking space before you arrive (with your accommodation provider if they have private parking, or with the public car parks otherwise). This will save you unnecessary stress when you arrive :)
