A destination to savour down to the last crumb!

When you talk about your plans for a sporting weekend in Bourg-Saint-Maurice Les Arcs, the questions your friends and family ask are not the ones you might expect. No : "Oh yes, is the Bike Park still open?" or "Are you going to do that paragliding flight we offered you?

No, no, that's all for GOOD FOOD, cheese galore and other delights. "Can you bring me some Beaufort please?" "Great, can you bring us the cheese for Caro's birthday?"

So to save your carrot, cherry tomato and humus aperitifs, here are our favourites from Bourg Saint Maurice that will make your most demanding friends' taste buds tingle!

Our local nuggets :

A mountain of producers

An association of producers and craftsmen has created a shop bursting with treasures: farmhouse cheeses from Ferme Rullier, sheep's yoghurt from Bergerie de Bonvillard, and tasty lamb from GAEC des Eulets. Don't hesitate to stock up for your gourmet picnics ;)

GAEC de la FYA, aux Chapieux

Cheese with a story is even better! These breeders have swapped the comforts of the office for a life in the great outdoors with their hardy Savoy ewes. These species, threatened at the end of the 19th century, have been saved by the passion of the breeders. The result? Meat, fresh cheeses and tommes to die for!

The Haute Tarentaise Dairy Cooperative

Take your orders, because this Beaufort with its hints of hazelnut and the scent of alpine flowers will be a hit with your friends and family! At the Coopérative Laitière de Haute Tarentaise, 52 farmers work hard to make their milk a real treat for the taste buds. And if you want to make a real impression in society, discover all the secrets of Beaufort by visiting the dedicated area!

To organise a tasting or to thank that friend who kindly looked after your cat or collected your parcel during your getaway, don't forget to add some nice bottles of local beer to your basket.

Here are some great addresses:

La Brasserie du Petit St Bernard

At the Brasserie du Petit St Bernard, beer is about sharing, conviviality and pure pleasure. Brewed with care, these craft beers, with their unique mountain flavour, will remind you of the good times you had at the weekend.

Les Névés

Les Névés is the beer that pays tribute to the region. Brewed with local ingredients, these beers are best enjoyed... in moderation, of course!

Why choose these local producers?

1. Because they have the region under their skin and protect it using environmentally-friendly methods.

2. Ultra-short routes: very few kilometres between the cow and the cheese! The result? A super-tasty product with fewer kilometres and less carbon footprint - the maths is right this time, Kevin!
