La Maison de la Pomme (Apple House)

The "Maison de la Pomme", in the Village of la Chal-Hauteville-Gondon, is open every day. Look round in your own time and free of charge.

From the Aime area to that of Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the apple has been a part of local history, an addition to the rural economy. Providential, rustic fruit, the apple was used for making cider, preparing sweet and savoury dishes as well as for feeding pigs. Reinettes and Franc-Roseau have even been exported. So, this arboriculture ensured varied production 11 months a year.

The little maison de la Pomme in la Chal, near Bourg-Saint-Maurice, will give you an understanding of this inestimable heritage and tell you about the large scale rescue project under way in the Tarentaise.

All year round: Monday to Friday – 9.30/11.30 am
