NOTRE-DAME-DES-VERNETTES

From Arc 2000 to the Notre Dame des Vernettes chapel, this balcony walk crosses the les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry slopes. Amongst mountains and little mountains, forests and Alpine pastures, the mainly sunny route is open onto the valley and offers an uninterrupted view from the Italian Alps to the Belledonne range. The Sanctuary of Notre Dame des Vernettes is dominated by the Aiguille Rousse, the Aiguille Grive and the Aliet Peak.

For guided tours of the chapel, sign up in one of the Tourist Offices.

Start: Arc 1600 or Arc 1800

VILLE DES GLACIERS

The natural site of les Chapieux and the Vallée des Glaciers is a crossroads between the Beaufortain, the Mont Blanc Massif and the Tarentaise, a strategic position between France and Italy. Located on the legendary route of the «Tour du Mont Blanc», this itinerary of both great hikes and gentle walks offers magnificent scenery amidst preserved Alpine pastures and the immensity of the glaciers… a real ode to escapism! To safeguard this protected site, vehicle access is prohibited on the road between Les Chapieux and la Ville des Glaciers. Buses, for which a charge is made, are laid on during July and August, linking Bourg Saint Maurice, Les Chapieux and la Ville des Glaciers. Timetables are available in Tourist Offices and on our walking page.

Start: Les Chapieux
Duration: 2 hours

ORCHARD PATH

You walk along the Isère through ancient orchards and mountain meadows. Look round the village of la Chal and its apple museum,  where traditional apple juice is made on site. Finish in the great Tarentaise orchard: display panels, picnic and rest areas.
