Where to ski in the sunshine

You open your curtains and what a lovely surprise, a magnificent ray of sunshine comes into your room. Hurry, a hat and some skis and where off!

Not so fast, Sunshine. Strong sun means protection. Rather than getting out the Biafine cream at the end of the day, we recommend that you spread on total block sunscreen even before putting on your skis.

Remember to protect your eyes, too. Ideally, wear goggles or a pair of suitable sunglasses with category 3 lenses, or even category 4 if it’s really sunny.

Head for the Aiguille Rouge to admire a 360°panorama. The view from up there is breath-taking and you have to admit arriving in the legendary red telecabin is pretty classy!

Ski down the Aiguille Rouge piste, then the Arandelieres. We suggest you then take the vallée de l’arc 4 to catch the Grand Col chairlift. Right at the top, you will once again have breath-taking scenery with this white paradise before your eyes. Schuss down the Grand Col piste, then take the vallée de l’Arc to the Comborcière chairlift. Once at the top, you can enjoy a picnic break, promise the marmots won’t pinch your sandwich.

After this panoramic break, ski down the Comborcière piste to the snowpark. Try out a few obstacles, have a look at the new lettering illustrated by the artist Lucas Beaufort and chill!

Ski gently back down towards Arc 1800. You will be able to take the Vagère chairlift which will take you to the Golf and Grands Mélèzes pistes.

On the way down, stop for an après-ski drink at la Folie Douce, if you feel like it and enjoy the last rays of the setting sun.
