The Funi ascent

The principle is simple: in 6 hours, complete as many climbs as you can on foot between Bourg Saint Maurice and Arc 1600 over a 5.1km route with a total of 817m of vertical drop. Take the funicular down and off you go again!

Descriptif

April 26, 2025

To celebrate the end of the winter season, you can challenge yourself for 6 hours by completing the maximum number of climbs on a course of 5.1 km and 817m of D+. Take up the challenge on foot, on a marked trail from Bourg Saint Maurice to the funicular station at Arc 1600.

Elite runners, competitors, leisure runners, families. A friendly event not to be missed.


THE RACES
+ On the 5.1 km course for 6 hours:

- Solo or in 2-person relays: each racer must complete as many ascents as possible during the 6-hour race. The descent is by funicular from Arc 1600, open to anyone born before December 31, 2005.

- The Challenge: The Club des Sports de Méribel (Défi de l'Olympe 6h) and Tarentrail (Montée du Funi 6h) have joined forces to offer the "12h de montées en Tarentaise" Solo or Relay Challenge. The aim is the same for both events: to complete as many climbs as quickly as possible.
Departure is at 10 a.m. from the funicular parking lot in Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

+ La Montée sèche: a single ascent between Bourg Saint Maurice and Arc 1600 open to anyone born before December 31, 2009.
Departure at 2pm from the Bourg-Saint-Maurice funicular parking lot.


+ Children's flat races near the funicular - for children born between 2018 and 2010 (from éveil athlétique to Minimes)

THE PROGRAM
8am - 9:30am: Number and chip collection for La Montée du funi (solo, relay and challenge)

10am: Start of "La montée du funi" Solo, relay and challenge - 6h race - Bourg St Maurice > Arc 1600

10 a.m. - 11 a.m.: "Kids' races" registration Ordinal ranking, flat course

11am : Start "Eveil athlétique" and prize-giving ceremony

11:15am : "Poussin" start and prize-giving ceremony

11:45am: Benjamin and Minime start and prize-giving ceremony

12:30 - 13:20: Number and chip collection for La Montée sèche - Bourg St Maurice > Arc 1600

2pm: Start of "La Montée sèche

3:20pm: Last ascent allowed

4.30pm: Prize-giving for the 4 races: Solo, Relay, Challenge and La montée sèche

Prices

Registration is open online at inscriptions-lchrono.com/monteedufuni2025/select_competition until April 25, 2025, then on site on race day from

from 8:30am to 9:30am and 12:30pm to 1:30pm. The maximum number of entrants is 250

runners. Entry fees are valid until April 25, 2025. The price for the challenge is

50€ (Olympus challenge + Funi ascent), the solo race is 30€, the relay 20€ per person,

and 10€ for the dry ascent.

Please note price increases on D-day 35€ for the solo, 25€ per person for the relay,

15€ for the dry climb.
