The legendary Cormet de Roselend route is yours for the taking, so for half a day you can ride your bike without worrying about traffic.

With friends or family, between the Tarentaise and Beaufortain regions, admire the breathtaking scenery up to an altitude of 1968m.

THE ROAD BELONGS TO YOU!

 

Departing from Bourg Saint Maurice (840m) or Beaufort (765m), take the opportunity to ride this legendary route with family, friends or on your own.

Join us at Le Cormet de Roselend for a festive refreshment in front of a superb panorama.

If you're feeling brave, you can do the round trip from Bourg Saint Maurice to Beaufort, a distance of around 40 km.
To climb the 1128 m ascent over a distance of around 19 km from Bourg Saint Maurice, the most experienced will need around an hour, but you have the whole morning ahead of you.

Between 8am and 1pm, all vehicular and pedestrian traffic is forbidden outside designated areas and footpaths on the D902 and D925 between Bonneval, Le Cormet de Roselend and the Col de Meraillet.

 

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

  • Free registration. No registration required: just turn up at the start of the race on the day and climb!
    Open to all cyclists
    Participants welcome from 8.15 am on the Place Castex (in front of the Coopérative Laitière) in Bourg Saint Maurice.
    Road closed D902 and D925 from 8.30am to 1pm between Bonneval (commune of Bourg Saint Maurice) and Col de Méraillet (commune of Beaufort).
    At the top of the pass, there will be a snack and live music!
    Descent authorised for cyclists from 10 a.m.

LE CORMET DE ROSELEND, A LEGENDARY PASSAGEWAY

Le Cormet de Roselend, the unspoilt jewel of the French Alps, unfurls its charms between an emerald lake, a majestic dam and a legendary pass. This place harmoniously combines unspoilt nature and historical heritage, offering visitors an immersive experience in the heart of the mountains.

This road linking the Beaufortain and Tarentaise regions has seen several stages of the Tour de France pass through, as well as countless cyclists, motorcyclists and motorists... Le Cormet de Roselend is a must-see on the Route des Grandes Alpes, with its 360° panoramic views.

On Friday 25 July 2025, the professional riders of the Tour de France will set off on the 19th stage from Albertville to La Plagne, passing through Cormet de Roselend.

On Sunday 20 July, almost 16,000 amateur cyclists will attempt to finish the Tour stage, climbing from Beaufort to Cormet de Roselend before descending to Bourg Saint Maurice to reach La Plagne!
