Since its creation, the Les Arcs logo has symbolized the spirit and history of this iconic French Alpine resort. Initially designed in 1969 around the unique architecture of the Dome, the logo has evolved over the decades to better reflect the station's values, dynamism, and identity. From its bold beginnings to more recent modernizations, each version of the logo demonstrates a desire to adapt to new expectations while maintaining a strong connection to its roots.
was created and featured as its pictogram: the Dome, referring to one of the first buildings constructed at Arc 1600 in 1969.
The Dome’s glued laminated timber structure consists of 5 identical crescents with intersecting arcs forming a mosaic of triangles.
Pierre Faucheux, the building’s architect, used this structure as the graphical base for designing the Les Arcs emblem: 3 peaks representing the 3 stations envisioned at the time (Arc 1600, Arc 1800, and Arc 2000). Its overall shape resembles a ski tip to evoke sliding sports.
Since its creation, this symbol has enabled direct association with the Les Arcs resort.
Concept:
Modified for the first time in the 2000s, the Les Arcs logo aimed to be bold and modern, reflecting the authentic, sporty, dynamic, and family-oriented values the resort wanted to convey. The logo communicates this positioning through its design and colors:
* Warm, inviting colors evoking the family-oriented positioning,
* A dynamic and rhythmic script style, associated with a relaxed handwritten look: symbols of modernity, dynamism, and the welcoming nature of the resort.
As part of one of the largest linked ski areas in the world, the "Paradiski" signature also became an integral part of the logo.
To modernize the image of Les Arcs and better align with its values, the four-color version of the logo was discontinued.
In 2016, the goal was to revive the historic logo (its typography, the harmony of its elements, its pictogram: the Dome, etc.). It brought the "Les Arcs" brand back to the forefront, emphasizing its ambition to stand out, unite, and be a resort that has always been unique and legendary in terms of adventures.
For its 50th anniversary, the logo returned to its original color and now features a dark blue shade, both understated and elegant.
