Situated in Bourg Saint Maurice, right in the heart of the upper Tarentaise valley, the Base Camp Lodge hotel is doubtless going to become one of THE places to stay in the valley from its opening in November !
Installed in the old part of town and occupied until recently by the 7th battalion of Mountain Infantry, the Base Camp Lodge has opted for an atypical decor, very in keeping with the mountains.
It is the concept that is particularly surprising, however. A mix that shakes up the standard hotel codes, with luxury suites, single rooms and “capsule” rooms…
There are connecting rooms which are ideal for family groups and dormitories for groups of friends. The 106 rooms range in size from 15 to 55 m² and the underground, closed car park has spaces for motorbikes.
THE BASE CAMP LODGE’S BEST PRACTICES
Short circuits, particularly local products, will be preferred for supplies
The bed linen will be certified Max Havelaar, one of the best-recognized labels for sustainable development
Guest toiletries will be Ecolabel certified and in the form of pump containers to reduce the number of plastic containers
The bed and bath linen will be cleaned on site to avoid sending it to a laundry and the carbon impact of transport
Staff will be lodged in the hotel to minimise travel
BC7 RESTAURANT
In “trapper” style, the BC7 combines the assets of a lounge bar, with a wide selection of beers and cocktails, and a restaurant with a varied menu, including vegan dishes, choice cuts of meat and local specialities. The establishment also intends to become one of Bourg Saint Maurice’s trendy spots and has a stage for hosting live concerts and regular entertainment.
