Refreshment stage of the Trail des Ducs de Savoie, a 145km, 9176m+ nature trail between Courmayeur and Chamonix, following the Grande Randonnée trails of the Mont-Blanc region, the Aosta Valley, the Haute Tarentaise and the Beaufortain.
Get up close and personal with the runners of this legendary TDS trail race.
Beautiful, technical, wild, demanding—there’s no shortage of adjectives to describe the TDS, which connects the Aosta Valley to Savoie, taking runners through the villages of the Tour du Mont-Blanc and the mountain ranges that surround them. Exploring this unique playground means traversing trails where history and the mountains intertwine, where the technical challenges of the terrain meet the warmth of its inhabitants.
Runners will set off on Monday, August 24, at 11:50 p.m. from Courmayeur, in our Italian neighbors’ territory, to begin their ascent to the summit of the Col du Petit Saint-Bernard. They will then descend toward Bourg-Saint-Maurice. They’ll need to refuel before tackling a grueling climb with 1,750 meters of elevation gain!
Come cheer them on and enjoy this extraordinary atmosphere for elite athletes!
The runners’ aid station is located at the middle school gym in Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
The fastest runner is estimated to pass through at 4:00 a.m. on August 25.
