There, you’ve taken the first step – booking your winter sports holiday! You can already feel the cool mountain air on your face, the sun reflecting off the immaculate snow, your skis gliding through the powder. Good, you’re ready…. or almost! So that your stay in les Arcs is one of your best holiday memories, it’s best not to forget anything … Here is a non-comprehensive list to help you set off with an easier mind.

Before you go away, make sure you:

  Choose and order lift passes for your whole group: you’re guaranteed to save time and money!
 

  If you want to be amongst the first to swoop down the freshly groomed pistes, you will certainly be advised toto choose and book your ski equipment in advance.
 

  The lift passes have just come in the post and your ski equipment has finally been booked, but aren’t you still forgotting one last little thing? Booking ski lessons perhaps…
Yes, you know:
       For your teenager who now wants to snowboard,
       + And for the youngest who will be amusing their fellow skiers of the same age in the Piou Piou Club!
 

  Think ahead about your journey by air, train or car to plan your departure, your rest breaks and to enjoy the scenery free of concerns … If you’re taking the car, Take « snow socks » or fit winter tyres, take a shovel and a scraper for a safe journey!
 

  As for clothes, remember to take something to keep out the cold and damp for all the family throughout your skiing holiday:

       + Ski suits or breathable jackets and ski pants
       + Undershirts
       + Fleece jackets and woolly jumpers
       + T-shirts and trousers for lazing by the fire
       + Woolly hats, gloves and scarves
       + Under-garments (preferably thermal, especially if you feel the cold!)
       + Pyjamas + slippers
       + Don’t forget swimming costumes and towels for the après-ski « spa »

ampouleA little tip:

If you’re worried you’ll forget something, imagine yourself on the slopes then having a meal at the end of the day and list what you’ll be wearing on each occasion!

  And for those who already have their ski equipment and don’t need to rent in the resort, make sure you don’t leave anything at home:

       + Skis or snowboards
       + Ski poles
       + Ski or snowboard boots
       + Snowshoes
       + Helmets
       + ARVA equipment for the more courageous
       + Toboggans for the little ones

Don’t forget to check your equipment before leaving to be quite ready to take to the slopes from the very first day and in complete safety!

  Here is a list of essential equipment to bring to the mountains for a successful holiday:
       +«Après-ski » boots
       + Ski sunglasses or goggles
       + Backpack that will take the whole family’s picnic
       + Moisturising hand cream
       + Lip salve
       + High protection sun cream
       + First aid kit
       + Little warmers: magic « hot water bottles » you can slip in your gloves or socks to keep you warm all day!
       + Helmet camera and charger
       + Board games for fun in the evenings

Don’t forget to bring the booking confirmations for your accommodation/ ski equipment, lift passes if you ordered them by post, identity documents…

 This winter, opt for the approved neck gaiter on the slopes. It will protect you from the cold and replace the mask, which will be mandatory in the queues and on the ski lifts.

ampouleDID YOU KNOW?

A surgical mask takes 450 years to break down. Remember to take a bag with you to dispose of yours or, better still, wear a washable fabric mask. 😉
