Les Chapieux and the City of Glaciers

In the heart of the Haute Tarentaise, the Vallée des Chapieux, followed by the Vallée des Glaciers, is a wild and authentic site, full of surprises. Lively and unspoilt, from June onwards it welcomes herds of goats, sheep and Tarines and Abundance cows, creating a veritable pastoral symphony. At La Ville des Glaciers, discover authentic local produce: Beaufort d'alpage, tomme, Sérac, goat's cheeses, butter... A feast for the taste buds, guaranteed by the typicality of the region.

Hiking in the Vallée des Chapieux :

With breathtaking views of the Aiguille des Glaciers, the highest point in Bourg-Saint-Maurice (3,817 m), and situated alongside the famous Tour du Mont Blanc, it offers adventure for all abilities. Whether you're a family or a seasoned hiker, the trails will take you through breathtaking scenery. Stop off at the refuges to recharge your batteries and sample the famous blueberry tart, while watching the marmots. Séloge's climbing spots offer unique challenges, accompanied, if you're lucky, by majestic eagles or lammergeiers soaring in the sky.

Full of history, the valley invites you to follow in the footsteps of the smugglers, crystal smiths and pedlars who once criss-crossed these mountains. At Séloge, discover the remains of the casemates, witnesses to a time of resistance and struggle.

The Vallée des Glaciers awaits you for an unforgettable adventure, where every step reveals a new treasure to be discovered.

Don't rely on your GPS to find your way, and don't expect to be able to make your most important calls, as you'll find yourself in a white zone with no network.
