With more than 500 kilometres of marked routes, it has what it takes for you to indulge your passion.
A Mecca for hiking and mountaineering, the Vanoise National park is the oldest of the French national parks. The National Park shares a 14 km frontier with the Italian Gran Paradiso national park. Together, they form one of the largest protected areas in Europe..
A vast network of footpaths and mountain refuges, the heart of the National Park will amaze you with its magnificent scenery and unexpected encounters: a bearded vulture taking wing or an Alpine ibex running away, the brilliance of the spring gentian or the delicate corolla of the northern linnaea.
The Vanoise is also mankind’s mountain, from which he fashioned the Alpine pastures which are still home to a dynamic and enduring agricultural activity. It is the land of the famous Beaufort cheese.
Accompanied by qualified guides, you can climb the peaks, discover the névés and glaciers, explore unsuspected areas. Every week during the summer season, the National Park also offers thematic activities and excursions accompanied by park wardens.
