VertiGO

Since 2003, Paradiski has been providing skiers from all over the world with one of the biggest and most varied ski areas on the planet courtesy of the link that connects the ski areas of les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry and la Plagne via the Vanoise Express cable car.

The Vanoise Express, a technical feat acknowledged as the biggest cable car in the world, is made up of two double-decker cabins which travel independently with no supporting pylons between the stations in Plan Peisey and Montchavin. By this means, 2000 people per hour can cross the Ponthurin Valley in less than 4 min, and so enjoy the slopes in both ski areas.

Since it was built, the Paradiski cable car has provided opportunities for a number of original experiences:

- Ride on the Roof in 2011

- Paradiski Gravity in 2014

- The Sky Diner in 2015 as well as a prestigious collaboration with the French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

For the 2015/2016 winter season, the Vanoise Express is getting stripped down for total transparency: Paradiski brings you VertiGO, a vertiginous experience 380 metres above the ground.

Thanks to a 1.70m2 sheet of transparent glass set into the floor of the lower level of each cabin, passengers will be able to enjoy an exceptional 3 dimensional view!

Conceived and designed by the technical department of the Société d’Aménagement de la Plagne in collaboration with the SIGMA Company, and with the appropriate authorities, VertiGO is a real technical challenge and promises some ”vertiginous” thrills.

Enjoy!
