Vendredi 11 et samedi 12 mars, la station des Arcs accueillait la 3e édition du B&E Invitational, un rendez-vous unique en son genre et incontestablement le plus attendu de la fin de saison dans l’univers du freeski.
Unique de par les modules sur lesquels les skieurs invités évoluent, le niveau et la popularité des riders rassemblés, mais aussi de par son format de notation (les skieurs se jugeant entre eux). Sur l’invitation de 2 des figures les plus influentes de leur génération, le Suédois Henrik Harlaut et le Canadien Phil Casabon, 24 skieurs ont bougé les lignes de leur sport le temps de 2 jours d’expression libre.
Parmi les invités de marque, la légende de la discipline, le Français Candide Thovex, a fait un passage fort remarqué après une saison très active en production vidéo. Ce qui reflète bien le crédit que l’évènement a gagné en 3 saisons d’existence. Henrik Harlaut et Candide Thovex ont ridé fort aujourd’hui et décroché, à eux deux, les 5 prix du contest !
Dès le début du parcours, les skieurs ont envoyé des figures impressionnantes. L’ancienne génération avait vraiment à cœur d’encourager, féliciter et transmettre à la nouvelle… Henrik Harlaut, surmotivé, a remporté 3 des 5 prix de la journée : le Blue Tomato Best Style (récompensant le style), le Les Arcs Best Overall (récompensant le skieur qui a le mieux exploité le park pendant les 2 jours) et l’Armada Best Trick (récompensant la meilleure figure : dub rodeo 1260 safety). Candide Thovex, quant à lui, a montré à la nouvelle garde qu’on pouvait toujours compter sur lui…
Il a reçu le Beatcan Best Line, récompensant le choix de la meilleure ligne (il a notamment effectué un transfert de trajectoire phénoménal, le seul de la journée et très inspiré du skate, couronné d’un double back sur le bas du park). Il a également obtenu le E-Adrenaline Public Choice Winner, décerné par les internautes (540 participants, 160 votes) suivant le live de chez eux. Au terme de l’après-‐midi, Candide s’est dit « très ému » d’avoir reçu ces deux prix.
Mention spéciale pour l’Américain Torin Yater-Wallace qui a rentré un double flat 12 safety spectaculaire et pour le Néo-‐Zélandais Jackson Wells qui a réalisé un double cork 9 en sortant du bowl sur le bas.
The most anticipated European freestyle skiing event of the season is pitching camp again in les Arcs on the 11 and 12 March 2016. The third running of the event is looking more impressive than ever with everything at the tempo of recognised artistes.
Created by two stars of the sport, Phil Casabon (Canada) and Henrik Harlaut (Sweden), the B&E Invitational is back with a new line-up of international riders as impressive as ever, a more aerial course and ever more music.

A real skatepark in the snow, the 2016 B&E Invitational course aims to be decidedly more innovative with the emphasis more than ever on the creativity of the shape, for the enjoyment of the guest riders and the spectators whether they’re at the event or in front of their screens watching the live stream.

The B&E Inventational, the brainchild of two international freeski stars, Henrik HARLAUT (Sweden) and Phil CASABON (Canada), was launched on 06 April this year with the 20 best freestyle skiers on the planet!
The event, the only one of its kind, owed much to an all new format of freestyle competition to the delight of the crowd who had turned out in large numbers to support the ever more impressive riders who displayed ever more skill in their discipline!
After a fiercely contested JAM SESSION and two special sessions: the Oakley Best Trick Session and the Orage Best Style Session, the riders who were also judges for the day awarded several prizes based on the style and degree of difficulty of the figures executed…
The B&E Inventational, the most looked forward to European freestyle event of the season, returns 12 & 13 March 2015!
Phil CASABON (Canada) & Henrik HARLAUT (Sweden, Sochi Olympics), the 2 international freeski stars bring you the world’s best riders – for a second year - to ride an obstacle of unique size and shape!
