Descriptif

Right from the start, the tone is set: what are these forts doing in such isolated locations, far from the main traffic routes? Is it to keep access to an incredible site secret? This could be true, as the route to the five lakes is so attractive: imagine starting from the forts, where a herd of goats is there to inspect you....then it's a beautiful ascent to the mountain pastures, where you'll see the last immaculate snow-covered slopes: chamois and ibex should be in the game under the Aiguille de Terrassin, where they love to bask. Then you arrive at the first glacial lake, "Esola", which means "starry lake". It would be a shame to stop there without discovering Lake Riondet (round!), Lake Cornu (horn-shaped), the beautiful green lake ("Verdet") and then the largest of them all: Lake Noir. The atmosphere is mineral and you'll have to go back down to appreciate the beautiful, fragrant mountain flora. Back at the fort, drinks and goat's cheese tasting for all!
