Choosing more responsible holidays is now possible.

Here are some good alternatives and sound attitudes for reducing your impact on our mountains. Needless to say, what you do at home works well here too. The idea is to share our « made in Les Arcs » tips with you.

Eco-responsible holidays  – Accommodation

Les Arcs is first and foremost a destination where all the villages are pedestrianised.  Arc 2000,at the foot of the Aiguille Rouge, enjoys the best snow coverage throughout the season. You can make your way through Arc 1950 as easily on foot as on skis. Arc 1800 also promises an escape from cars to enjoy the view of Mont Blanc. Lastly,  Arc 1600, birthplace of the resort and  Charlotte Perriand's « architectural laboratory », blends perfectly into the backdrop of mountains and pine trees.

LOur accommodation providers’ good habits:

+  The Auberge du Miravidi, in Bourg Saint Maurice has been renovated in line with ecological principles and is working to protect the environment. The paint is made from natural pigments, water and electricity consumption are carefully managed and breakfast consists of organic local produce.
+  The Hôtel de l’Aiguille Grive in Arc 1800, was awarded the BBC (bâtiment basse consommation – low consumption building) label when it was built.
+  L’hôtel Mercure in Arc 1800 has completely cut out the use of plastic bottles.
+  At the Base Camp Lodge, the bed linen is certified by Max Havelaar, one of the best recognised brands in terms of sustainable development.
