Born from the richness of the Haute-Tarentaise territory, local products and know-how tell, above all, a story of the mountains. Until the middle of the 20th century, the agro pastoral system was adapted to the difficult conditions of the mountains: exploitation of mountain pastures, dairy farming for the production of different cheeses (Beaufort “Prince des Gruyères”, Tomme, etc.). In each village, there was a great diversity of craft activities of which many testimonies remain.

A visit to discover the history of orchards: exploitation of the Montgirod anthracite mines, creation of the conservatory orchard, protection of old varieties, biodiversity...
